I was quite touched by so much of this - as Rj said, there is so much to say! Yet I am so often in the place Hiroyuki named, so overwhelmed by cynicism I have nothing to say... John Cage was very influential in the course my life took, by the way.

For a deep dive into the Israeli nuclear program, https://rumble.com/v1a6xdr-numec-how-israel-stole-the-atomic-bomb.html is a worthy investment of 90 minutes.

And yes to all of what you and Cory said - especially on the crushing of the mind these days. I notice on days that I "fast" from internet use, I am FAR more serene. I sleep better, I dream more meaningfully, I reprioritize the relationships around me, I read more.

It's a main reason I landed in Indiana the last few years. We still have places like the photo you posted: I drive through a covered wooden bridge on my two-mile commute to the small farm I work on. Last night, at the small church I am loosely affiliated with, we reeanacted the ceremony ascribed to Jesus at the Last Supper, where he commanded his disciples to serve others by washing their feet. I don't go along with the religion's creed, but there is something important about belonging to a small and caring group, some of whom do stuff like go stand in front of bulldozers in Palestine. All of this helps with the cynicism.

I'll leave you with the trailer from the short movie just made about our farm :) https://www.instagram.com/p/DHdQCXXuVHF/ Thanks for the great discussion!
